My name is Lari and this is my research blog on crowdfunding and fandom. I am designating this blog as a place where people may come to find out more about these two topics, and how crowdfunding and fandoms blend together when it comes to fan labor and exploitation. I want fans to become more informed, aware and learn something they hadn’t known before, if this site can do that, then I have done my job. If you want to read more about my analysis and case studies, please start by clicking here. You can also “like” my page on Facebook.
I am currently a graduate student in my last semester of my master’s program in Emerging Media and Communication at the University of Texas at Dallas. Creating this website and blogging about my research is my master’s capstone and thesis project.

P.S. you can also check out my Facebook feed and other people’s tweets about fandom and crowdfunding on the footer (bottom) of my home page. If you want to know more about me personally you can also check out this article written by my friend and classmate Eva Warren on the EMAC blog at the UTDallas EMAC site.
